2024, a year full of unexpected joy.
As I reflect on the whirlwind that was 2024, I can’t help but marvel at how a year that started with so much uncertainty transformed into one brimming with growth, purpose, and unexpected joy. The best and the hardest year yet. It was full of big wins and even bigger lessons.
The year began with a literal crash—a car accident that left me in a fog and disrupted my plans. I faced health issues, felt stuck, and had to take time to really face the things I’d been hiding from. In that challenging season, I realized the importance of nurturing my mental health and realigning my path with what I feel called to do. Through those challenges, I made the life-changing decision to pursue my business full-time—and the doors just kept opening.
Despite the struggles, 2024 brought incredible moments and achievements that I’ll cherish forever.
One of the biggest highlights was successfully completing the Starter Company Plus grant program. This opportunity not only provided invaluable support for my business but also affirmed that I was on the right path. The program equipped me with tools and resources that continue to make a difference as I grow and serve my clients. I met some pretty incredible people too!
Another one of those highlights was photographing branding materials for the Municipality of Clarington’s recreation programs. Being part of promoting programs that bring the community together was a meaningful and exciting experience that reminded me of the impact photography can have beyond personal memories.
One of the highlights was continuing my journey with a cherished family I’ve been photographing for five consecutive years. Capturing their growth and milestones has been an extraordinary honour, and it reminds me why I love what I do.
Another unforgettable moment was photographing Danielle and Kevin's wedding at the new Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough, Ontario —only the second wedding ever held there! It was such a privilege to document such a significant day in such an extraordinary space.
I had the absolute privilege of photographing one of my childhood best friend's weddings at the Pie Eyed Monk in Lindsay, Ontario! It was so fun to be a part of Rachel and Colton's wedding day! What a treat!
December capped off the year as one of my busiest months, ending with a beautiful session on December 30th. Throughout the year, I captured some of my favourite photographs to date and had the absolute privilege of meeting so many incredible people along the way. Each shoot, from weddings to portraits, reinforced how much I love what I do and how deeply grateful I am for the trust and joy my clients bring to my life.
