If you had told me a year ago that I’d be opening my very own natural light studio in the heart of downtown Peterborough, I might have laughed and kept editing a gallery from my kitchen table. But here we are — and I am so thrilled to finally welcome you into this cozy, light-filled space that has already become such a special part of my photography journey.
Nestled in the historic Commerce Building, my new studio is more than just four walls — it's a place where stories come to life through portraits, branding sessions, and creative collaborations.
A Space Designed for Creativity
When I first stepped into this space, I knew it had the bones for something beautiful. Now, with tall arched windows that pour in soft natural light, high ceilings with heritage charm, and calming tones throughout, the studio feels like a true reflection of my work and values: honest, warm, and connection-driven.
The blush-pink door and original trim add a vintage touch, while the Scandinavian-inspired light fixture and soft, neutral décor bring in a sense of calm and simplicity. A cozy cream-colored lounge chair, paired with a tall arched mirror, creates the perfect corner for branding prep or a quiet moment with a client before their session begins.
Every element — from the soft sheer curtains to the natural wood wardrobe — was chosen with intention to make you feel at ease the moment you step through the door.
Who This Space is For
Whether you're a family wanting timeless portraits, a creative entrepreneur in need of branding images, or a photographer looking to rent a natural-light space for your own clients — this studio was designed with you in mind. It’s also perfect for influencers, content creators, and small business owners who need a beautiful, well-lit space to batch content. With tools like a ring light, adjustable content tripod, and soft neutral backdrops ready to go, you can create polished, professional visuals without the hassle of setting up at home.
This is a place to create, to collaborate, and to celebrate the stories that matter most — with everything you need at your fingertips.
Come See It in Person!
I'm hosting an official studio grand opening on Friday, May 2nd as part of the First Friday Art Crawl here in Peterborough, and you’re warmly invited to stop by. Bring a friend, say hello, and soak in the space — I’d love to see you there. Until then, thank you for being part of this journey with me. I can’t wait to capture more memories with you in this beautiful new space.
Warmly,
Kayla
