Where is Studio 5 located?

Studio 5 is located on the third floor of the historic Commerce Building in downtown Peterborough, Ontario.

What Can i expect from Studio 5?

Studio 5 is a bright, thoughtfully designed creative space with a cozy footprint and a lot of personality. At approximately 210 sq. ft. with 10-foot ceilings, it feels open and airy while still offering an intimate, focused environment for creators.

The studio features a versatile layout with 4 distinct shooting directions.
One wall is lined with large heritage windows, letting in beautiful natural light throughout the day.
Another is a clean white wall, perfect for minimal setups or seamless backdrops—and can easily be covered with a curtain to change the look. The third wall adds character, featuring a white heritage door, black wall radiator, and open space for creative compositions.
A ceiling-mounted curtain track allows you to block off the main entrance, giving you full control over your shooting angles and privacy.

Whether you're capturing portraits, filming content, or running a styled shoot, Studio 5 offers the charm, light, and flexibility to bring your vision to life.

What is the studio suitable for?

Studio 5 is ideal for photography sessions, video content, branding shoots, workshops, content and social media content creation and intimate events.

What type of rentals are available?

Kayla offers hourly (minimum 2 hour), half-day (4 hours), and full-day (10 hours) rental rates!
Kayla is pleased to offer discounted rates on recurring rentals (weekly or monthly) and multi-day bookings.
Rentals begin at $40 an hour - please reach out for detailed costs and options.

What is included in the rental?

The studio includes access to natural light, a variety of backdrop options, seating, a ring light, a reflector and a designated workspace. Washroom access is also included. Please note that there is no WiFi available.

You're welcome to bring your own cameras, lights, or props. Just let us know in advance if you have any special requirements.

Is Studio 5 accessible?

Studio 5 is located on the third floor of a heritage building, and unfortunately, there’s no elevator access. I’m really sorry for this limitation. I know it’s not ideal, and I truly wish the space was more accessible to everyone. Accessibility is important to me, and it’s something I hope to improve on in the future. If you have any questions or need help figuring out if the space will work for you, please feel free to reach out.

Studio 5 is proudly owned and operated by Kayla Le Franc, a professional photographer based in Peterborough, Ontario. Kayla created Studio 5 as a welcoming, creative space for photographers, content creators, and small business owners to bring their visions to life. You can learn more about Kayla on the About page!

Please note that studio rentals are available on Sundays, Mondays and Fridays.
